The shoulder joint is a ball and socket joint that has the ability to move in multiple planes of motion. Due to this versatility, many muscles are attached to it. However, there are three specific muscles, collectively known as the shoulder muscles, which cover the shoulder blade. These muscles are the anterior, medial, and posterior deltoids.

Based on the biomechanics of daily tasks, such as driving, carrying bags, and holding children, the frontal deltoid is the most commonly used muscle. Consequently, it becomes overactive. Conversely, the posterior deltoid is rarely used due to these daily tasks, causing it to become weak. This strength imbalance leads to altered length tension, which in turn causes a change in joint motion and posture.
